Dual Effects of N-Butanol and Magnetite Nanoparticle to Biodiesel-Diesel Fuel Blends as Additives on Emission Pattern and Performance of a Diesel Engine with ANN Validation

This paper investigates impact of magnetite dispersed in butanol and added to two varied blends palm biodiesel diesel (B20 B30). The developed fuel samples were characterized tested on single cylinder Yanmar engine (L70N) observe behavior for emissions performance. Results are compared with reference fuels: YF50 contains 50 ppm B20 Bn10Y90 10% 90% B20. Addition depletes levels improve performance ordinary B30 however; higher dosage (150 ppm) yielded better results emission lower (75 ppm). best sample was C10Z90 which entails 150 at B30. Brake thermal efficiency (BTE) highest brake power (BP) point 37.28% others (32.88%, 35.22% 35.96%). Additionally, specific consumption (BSFC) least 8.29 g/Kw.hr most 84.52 less than other BP point. indicated carbon-monoxide, hydrocarbon smoke except oxides nitrogen. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model successfully predicted BTE, BSFC the dual application.
